Nope, it won’t make you look cheap. A lot of people are getting them now days, it adds to the ring. The only real thing to look out for is that if you aren’t going with diamonds and another color, that they still look nice together and don’t clash. Good luck!
two tone gold? if you think she’ll wear it, then get it. really think about her style in jewelry and what she already has, and look for similar rings. don’t worry about anyone’s opinion of the ring but hers. if you’re worried she’ll think you’re cheap, then don’t propose. you don’t want a person that shallow.
two tone rings actually cost more, because they require more work, the pink-yellow-white combo’s are actually very popular now.
I have a yellow and white gold engagement ring, and I don’t think it looks cheap. The section of white gold is hand engraved, and I’m not sure the engraving would have shown up as well in yellow gold. If it’s a nice ring, your fiance will love it regardless of how much you paid for it. As another person said, there’s more work involved in a two-tone ring, so it may not be cheap after all!
A lot of people don’t like two-tone jewelry, your girlfriend might be one of them. Why not include her in the process and get her something she really likes?
Two tone doesn’t necessarily look cheap. You can do something fancy or do something which looks tasteful in two tone. Here are a couple of examples which can be found at http://www.whiteflash.com – I would also suggest taking a look at their gallery for some examples of custom design pieces: http://www.whiteflash.com/gallery/
Good Luck!
No way! Two toned rings are gorgeous!! And just so you know, two toned engagement rings often cost more because the bands have to be made separately, which is a longer process and requires a higher level of craftsmanship. So I say go for it!
If you are referring to two-tone meaning diamonds and other gemstone combinations, then having a two-tone ring will definitely not make it look cheap. If anything, it will make it look more expensive because it adds a unique and almost exotic quality to the ring. Many people are choosing to wear rings that not only have diamonds, but also sapphires, rubies, and emeralds.
Look at these gemstone settings for example to get an idea of how beautiful an engagement ring can look with added colorful gemstones: http://www.adiamor.com/Rings-GemstoneSetting-0-100000-White.htm
If you are referring to a two-toned setting, those also do not look cheap. Combining gold and platinum or other metals is more difficult and can often cost more to make. In the end, it’s all about her preference and what she enjoys wearing.
Take a closer look at a site like http://adiamor.com to find more examples of two-toned rings and you’ll be surprised at how limitless the options are.
