@SSdraken So true! Also I’ve NEVER heard a dj at a wedding actually properly blend tracks. They usually just wait till 1 song is finished then quickly play the next. In my opinion this just makes them a human jukebox!!

I agree, I normally have a set of tracks going in that either the bride & groom requested, or fit the genre of music they requested, and then mix in guest requests that during the evening, finding the right flow for the night…

One other thing when u r a mobile DJ one better not be a Genre-specific DJ, right? ’cause u have different crowd every time . If you go in night clubs, you will often hear loops of music, that can often be played all night.
Anyone can set a loop.
It isn’t my favourite genre either particularly.

In my opinion you can’t prepare a wedding set… There are just too much requests and the public is too divers. An other thing: a wedding usualy takes more than 60 min.
You can construct mini sets of top songs in each genre. This would allow you to test the waters to see where the night will lead you.
Part 2 I sometime say if you have a song request for a dance later tonight for when we get this party started please feel free to right it down in my request book artist or title this can give you a little hint of your crowd But as you become seasoned you won’t need the request book.
Part 1 OK all you amateurs this is how you gage a crowd at a wedding. First while dinner is being served watch the crowd’s body language as you play certain songs test the water with instrumentals of popular songs and genera’s Motown Elvis country hip hop etc Head bobbing foot tapping etc and while there eating.
Listen, I’d like to say that ignorant comments like this really annoy me, I’m not being a music snob but there is a lot to dance music as with any genre and it all down to personal preference and what you say in your comment is completely untrue. You appear to be some kind of DJ yourself which surprises me because I think it’s important to have a little respect for other music even if you don’t like it.

Im a Mobile Dj and I specialize in certian areas, but I have to be diverse. That same stuff that you call cheese, is requested by the client majority of the time. Clients pay the mobile dj to play the cheese, the mobile dj is not successful if he/she says no.If you have swagga then you can bring in the macarina and make it hot.Thats a real DJ.Club Dj, people come to here you play.Mobile Dj, people pay you to play.If werent this way, every party would be held at a club, hence forth no mobility.
True and not true i have been a mobile dj for 5 years now yes u play cheeses stuff but i also mix remix mash up at my events. When your doing a wedding they want stuff like the macarina cause everyone knows that song and has fun with it! I also dj in some clubs and would be killed if i played the stuff i play at weddings lol
I can only disagree. In my experience, Mobile DJs always play the same useless cheese. I really respect all DJs but generally mobile DJs just play garbage to please the masses just as the video says “the macarina”, saturday night, grease megamix, that’s what is always played and i’d hardly call it “diverse”. Sure there are many genres but its the same songs every time.

You noticed one thing Muriel did was prove to herself she could be anything she wanted to be.I saw this movie after surviving a horrible accident.I was lucky to be able to walk again.From this movie I learned that you can be happy.I now know how lucky I was and am greatful for everyday I have.I changed my outlook on the world,not everyone is bad.I am now going deaf and know that it will not slow me down or stop me ever from my goals in life.
This movie is the best girl flick I had ever seen.I love how Muriel has the last laugh proving she could be better then anybody thught of her.She and Rhonda prove a best friend is all us really want.Also what is wrong with yourself.I also hate how crummy they treat Muriel and how they never deserved a good person like Muriel.Rock on Muriel be yourself.
