People do this quite often, especially if their original set was purchased back in the day when you and hubby were just scraping by financially. If you want to make sure – how about having a renewal of vows? That way, both sets will have gone through the appropriate ceremonies, and that’ll take any “curse” off of ‘em ;-)

In my opinion, the only time to get new rings is when you get new marriage.

no im gonna have two sets..one white gold and one yellow gold..it all depends on what you want. some people have an engagement ring and then buy a completely different bridal set..if your planning to keep your original engagement ring..that will be a nice gift to your future daughter on her sweet sixteen birthday

My sister and her husband didn’t have alot when they first got married so had a very plain set of gold bands for their first wedding rings. On their tenth anniversary, my brother in law suprised her with a new set, a nice cut with a diamond in the band.
He told her he’ll update again on their 25th anniversary.

So I don’t think theres anything wrong with changing the rings if both couples want to do that.

There is no polcy for changing your rings, sometimes another set of rings is given by family members as a gift or they tend to get another set cause the couple just found they liked another set.

No! You can get new rings if you choose! I already got a new engagment ring after only being married for 8 months! People upgrade all the time!

I don’t know, but I don’t know anyone who would want to do this. My original rings are so special to me, they are blessed and symbolize the start… and the continuity of our marriage.
